Remote Deposit Capture enables members to deposit checks into their credit union accounts using a mobile phone or tablet. The service is free to members. We no longer offer a desktop solution for remote deposit of checks.

How it Works

Log in to the GICU Mobile App.
Select Check Deposit.
Photograph the front and back of your endorsed check.
Submit your deposit.

Remote Deposit Tips

Don't forget to endorse your check
Write "Remote Deposit" on the back of the check
Use good lighting when snapping a photo of your deposit
Keep the physical copy of the check for at least 10 days

Funds Availability

Deposits submitted before 3:00 p.m. CST on a business day will generally be available after 5:00 p.m. CST the same day.
Deposits submitted after 3:00 p.m. CST on a business day will generally be available after 5:00 p.m. CST on the next business day.

How do i enroll in remote deposit capture?

Enrolling is quick and easy, starting by logging in to the Greater Iowa Mobile App. From the Transactions menu, select Enroll in Remote Deposit, review and accept the Terms and Conditions, and you're ready to start depositing checks.

How do I deposit a check using the mobile app?

After you're enrolled, select Check Deposit from the Transactions menu. Endorse the back of your check, write "Remote Deposit" below your signature, take clear photos of the front and back of the check, and submit your deposit through the app.

Is there a fee to use Remote Deposit Capture?

No. Remote Deposit Capture is a free service available to Greater Iowa Credit Union members through the Mobile Banking app.

Are there deposit limits?

Yes. The standard daily deposit limit is $5,000. This limit applies to both individual checks and your total deposits for the day. Members who have previously been approved for higher limits may have a different daily limit. If you have questions about your limits, please contact our team at 515-956-3000.
