What do I need to open an account?

To open your new GICU account, please bring the following:

Valid Government-Issued ID (Passport, Driver’s License, Photo ID, Matricula Card, etc.)
Proof of Address (Utility Bill, Credit Card Statement, etc.)
Social Security Card or Proof of ITIN (Letter from IRS, Tax Returns, ITIN Card, etc.)
$5 Opening Deposit
An additional $50 deposit is needed when opening a checking account with a debit card.

When opening an account for someone under 18 years of age, please bring the following:

Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, or Passport
Social Security Card
$5 Opening Deposit
A parent or guardian will need to be added as a joint owner on the account.
