Make a Payment
We offer a variety of options for members to make payments to their loans including in person at the branch, by mail, online or by phone.
Credit Cards
To make a credit card payment, log in to online banking and select Credit Card Services.
Online Loan Payments:
From a Greater Iowa account to a Greater Iowa loan:
If you are making your payment from a Greater Iowa account to a Greater Iowa loan, you can sign up for our online banking and use the “funds transfer” function to make your payment. Enroll in online banking now!
From another financial institution to a Greater Iowa loan:
If you are making the payment from your account at another financial institution, you can make a loan payment through our automated system using a debit card or your bank routing and account number. Payments will post in 1-3 business days. Please note this is not an internal processing procedure and therefore there is a cost for this service. The $2.50 fee charged is a portion of the cost to Greater Iowa. Click here for the online loan payment center.
You can also make a payment at no cost by enrolling in Greater Iowa online banking and linking your account from another financial institution. The initial account linking process can take up to 5 business days, but future payments could be made as quickly as the following business day. Set up automatic payments:
From a Greater Iowa account or another financial institution to a Greater Iowa loan:
To set-up an automatic payment from your Greater Iowa account or from your account at another financial institution, you can:
- Call our contact center at 800.296.9064
- Stop into any of our branch locations
- Complete the Automatic Payment Form and return to us by mail (Greater Iowa Credit Union - PO Box 665, Ames, IA 50010), fax (515-956-6946) or to an any of our branch locations.
Please allow 3 business days prior to payment date for processing.

From a Greater Iowa account to a Greater Iowa loan:
We can assist you with making your payment over the phone at no cost. Call 800.296.9064.
From another financial institution to a Greater Iowa loan:
If you are making the payment from your account at another financial institution using a debit card, or your bank routing and account number, you can call us at 800.296.9064. Payments will post in 1-3 business days. Please note this is not an internal processing procedure and therefore there is a cost for this service. The $10 fee charged is a portion of the cost to Greater Iowa.
