Greater Iowa Credit Union is a federally insured, state-chartered community credit union with nine branch locations in Ames, Ankeny, Des Moines, Waukee, Denison, and Indianola! GICU is an ever-growing, member-owned, financial cooperative with assets of $624 million.
The GICU story began with just nine people in June of 1932. Over the years, we have grown exponentially from our humble beginning of working out of the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds office on Iowa State University’s campus. Today, we serve 36,000+ members throughout a 33-county area in Central and Western Iowa with a staff base of over one hundred twenty.
At Greater Iowa, we believe in supporting the communities we serve and providing a wide variety of top-notch products and services to help our members achieve their financial goals. We are passionate about providing exceptional service and take time to get to know our members individually to ensure we find the best products and services to meet their needs.
